1. Scope

This policy covers the personal data AkariClip (operated by DigiBugg Labs) processes when you use akariclip.ai and akariclip.com. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.

2. What we collect

  • Account data. Email address, display name, and password hash, or your Google account email and name if you sign in with Google.
  • Content. The videos, audio, and links you upload or paste, and everything we derive from them to serve you: transcripts, captions, clips, thumbnails, renders.
  • Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken, used for security, debugging, and metering.
  • Payment data. Handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep subscription status, plan, and billing period. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
  • Waitlist data. If you join the access queue: your email and, if you pasted one, the link you wanted clipped.

3. How we use it

To provide the Services (process your media, render your clips, meter your plan), to secure and debug them, to bill you, to send transactional email (receipts, account and queue notices), and to improve the product. We use your content to serve you, not to build advertising profiles.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data. To anyone.
  • We run no advertising networks and no third-party ad trackers on the Services.
  • We do not use your content to train foundation models.

5. Who processes data for us

We share data only with the processors that run the Services, each bound to process it solely on our instructions:

  • Supabase (database, authentication, file storage)
  • Vercel (application hosting and DNS)
  • Stripe (payments and billing)
  • Deepgram (speech-to-text transcription of media you submit)
  • fal.ai (optional AI visual generation; your audio is never sent to fal)
  • OpenRouter (language-model processing of transcripts for moment selection and copy)
  • Google (sign-in with Google, if you use it)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Trigger.dev (processing job orchestration)

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy follows the data until replaced with notice.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only: your sign-in session, and a short-lived cookie that remembers a link you pasted before signing up (it expires within an hour). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because we do not track, there is no cookie banner to click, and browser "Do Not Track" signals change nothing about how we already behave.

7. Retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Content is kept so your library keeps working, and you can delete items or your whole account at any time; deleted content leaves routine backups on a rolling basis. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Waitlist entries are kept until you join or ask to be removed.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is scoped per workspace with row-level security, service credentials are held server-side only, and payments never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as applicable law requires.

9. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Most of it is directly in your hands in the app (Settings, your library); for anything else, or for a full account deletion or a copy of your data, email legal@akariclip.ai and we will verify the request and respond within the time applicable law allows. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. California residents: the rights above cover access, deletion, correction, and portability under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal data as the CCPA defines those terms.

10. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 16 has an account, email legal@akariclip.ai and we will delete it.

11. Where data lives

The Services are hosted in the United States (primary region: US East). If you use the Services from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US.

12. Changes and contact

We will announce material changes to this policy before they take effect. Questions or requests: legal@akariclip.ai. DigiBugg Labs, Los Angeles, CA.
